I recently read an article about a mature couple who divorced because the husband was "too solicitous", and the wife claimed that this extreme care was tantamount to" mental cruelty". We come across a similar dilemma in this fun and well-crafted story. Just as the image of a handsome brooding rake is better in fiction than in reality, similarly a perfect gentleman is also not every woman's cup of tea. This fact is brought out and threshed in this interesting novel. At first it seems that there isn't much scope in 'Miss Match' for going beyond the usual chick lit areas... But the detailed study of conflicting characters gives it an added depth. Nicely written, and can be treated as a standalone novel even though it is part of a series.Product details

Good if you're looking for a quick romantic read. Modern story. Consistent character development. Good tension to keep the plot going.
I really enjoyed the book, this was a new author for me. I loved the main character Claire (Miss Match) but thought Javiar (Love Doctor) needed more backbone. Claire was a strong female and Javier just seemed to meek for her. The secondary characters were well developed as friends. I would read the author again.
I didn't read the first book but this one felt like a standalone. I liked the witty dialogue between the characters.
OK, so maybe it was just a tiny bi predictable. The thing is, though, even though you can predict the outcome you absolutely can't predict the hysterical twists and turns in the journey. And you'll love Miss Match's columns. You might want to read this someplace other than a public venue, because people do tend to stare when you break into explosive laughter.
Our heroine writes relationship advice columns, but needs help. Her friends secretly hire someone to show her romance. We can all see where this is going. The problem is, the heroine is downright mean, sarcastic, and rude. I can't figure out why she has been hired to write relationship advice, or even why she has friends at all. It would be different if she had been kind at one point but changed because of heartbreak of some kind, but it is made clear that she has been like this her whole life. We keep getting told that she is brilliant and funny, and (it is implied) this is why people like her and think she's a great asset to her company. However, we never see this brilliance or humor. The samples of her column are all about how awful men are - why would a dating service post these?
I just didn't get why we, the hero, or anyone, would want to spend time with this woman.
I think this is a story that many women who are considered attractive can relate to. The female protagonist has become bitter due to the combination of her experiences growing up and her experiences dating men who are clearly not worthy of relationships. The main male protagonist is far too idealistic and thinks he can save every woman (or do his best) in some way. Their issues and the way they handled them were very believable. I loved the perspective of the author, who seemed able to carry a balanced view of these two and from that wrote an entertaining and thought-provoking book. I can't imagine anyone disliking this story.
I almost put this book down several times, but went ahead and finished it. It had quite a bit of language and the heroine was pretty crass. I did like the meshing of the two main characters personalities, but there was just something about this book that left me wanting.
